Investors looking for opportunities in the hotel sector will find the highest supply in five districts: Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Évora and Beja, according to the latest data from idealista. An analysis of tourist establishments for sale in Portugal over the last three months ending in October shows that five districts concentrate most of the supply. Faro ranks first, with 24 hotels for sale listed on idealista. Next comes Lisbon with 20 tourist units seeking new owners, followed by Porto (19), Évora (9) and Beja (8), according to the latest data from idealista/data. The major urban centers of the capital and Porto, along with the Algarve and Alentejo regions, thus stand out as the areas with the widest range of tourism properties available to national and international investors. Taking this analysis to a local level clearly shows that the municipalities of Porto, Lisbon and Faro have the highest number of hotel establishments available to change owners in the last quarter ending in October. In the Porto district, most of the hotel supply is concentrated in the municipality of Porto (13 properties). The other six tourism buildings for sale are spread across Vila do Conde (2), Amarante, Felgueiras, Maia and Vila Nova de Gaia, according to the data. The same pattern is seen in the capital district. The municipality of Lisbon offers the highest number of hotels for sale (10), with the remaining supply listed on idealista located in Mafra (4), Cascais (3), Lourinhã (2) and Torres Vedras (1). In the Algarve region, tourism properties on the market are spread across several municipalities: Faro (6), Lagos (6), Loulé (3), Tavira (3), Lagoa (2), Albufeira (1), Alcoutim (1) and Vila do Bispo (1). There is also a wider geographical distribution of hotels for sale in the Alentejo districts. In fact, the district capitals Évora (1) and Beja (2) are not the municipalities with the highest supply, being surpassed by Estremoz (2) and Viana do Alentejo (2) in the first case, and by Serpa (3) in the second.
